Philippine Holidays for 2016
Last August 20, 2016 President Benigno Aquino III signed the Proclamation No. 1105. On Philippine Holidays for 2016, it lists down 10 regular holidays and nine special non-working days. There will be at least 6 long weekends according to the signed Proclamation.
On the other hand, the observance of Eid’l Fitr and Eidul Adha will be declared later, in accordance with the Islamic calendar.
Based on last year’s labor advisory, employees who did not work during a regular holiday will receive 100 percent of their salary for that day. They will receive 200 percent of their salary if they work for eight hours.
For special non-working days, on the other hand, a “no work, no pay” principle will be applied, unless a more favorable company policy exists. A worker is entitled to an additional 30 percent of his salary if he reports for work
